The architecture of Belarus is remarkable and diverse, unfortunately, neither foreigners nor Belarussian people know much about it.

This site has been created based on one motive and many reasons. The motive is simple: to share the beauty of Belarus with those, who has not been here yet and with those who are planning to visit Belarus. Speaking of reasons, they continue to arise regularly.

If we talk about those for whom Belarus is a transit destination, then their ignorance of the history and attractions of the country can be fully understood and forgiven. However, for those who has chosen to visit our country as a tourist becomes especially crucial to know something more than just the Stalin line, Khatyn, The Brest Fortress, potato pancakes, lakes and the Route M1 because Belarus is much more than this. Based on that, the main purpose of this site is to show Belarus from the different angles.

I would like to stipulate right away, what most likely won’t be on this site. There won’t be a large number of natural beauties, there won’t be Belavezhskaya Pushcha and other reserves. Most likely, you won’t see zoos, reports from all kinds of festivals and celebrations. There will be no portraits of «Belarusians in bast shoes and with a pipe», which for many years have been seen as the only ideologically correct picture, so that has become part of our DNA. It is also unlikely to find many pictures of residential areas and other places that don’t inspire me. At the same time, there will be many other things. For instance, many photographs of architectural monuments: historical and not so well known, hyped and second-rated, however still majestic and memorable. Currently, this site doesn’t pretend to be somewhat official guidebook, but when it’ll be filled with information, it may become at least a tourist guide (the only obstacle here is the lack of free time).

As of mid-2020, the author of the site has thousands and thousands of photographs from hundreds of different Belarusian cities and villages, which, I want to believe, will arouse the interest among potential tourists and travelers. I will show you various religious buildings, as well as historical ones and, for sure, much much more. I want to clear the air in advance and give you a heads up that on this site won’t be publications about all the sights of the country.

All text materials used on this site were prepared personally by the author, or taken from open sources on the Internet.

What else I would like to mention. The topic that this site is devoted to, cannot be completed by definition, because in order to visit every distant corner of Belarus, the lifetime is not enough. Because of that, after the ready-made blocks are completed and published, the new ones may appear with delays in time. But they will be published, I swear. For convenience, there is a map on the site with localities, which has already been posted. For a quick jump to the desired place, you can use the abovementioned map.

Regards, author.
